AI Use Disclosure (A Note on My Process)
I care deeply about the stories I tell and the art I share—and I also believe in being open about how that work comes together.
Like many creators today, I use a mix of traditional tools and newer technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), in thoughtful and limited ways. For me, AI is a support tool—not a storyteller.
Here’s what that looks like in my work:
Where I Use AI
Marketing and promotional content: I sometimes use AI to help shape marketing copy, social media posts, or visual concepts.
Research and idea exploration: AI can be a helpful partner when I’m asking questions, exploring possibilities, or working through early-stage ideas.
Third-party design elements: Occasionally, I incorporate assets created by other independent artists (such as textures or graphic elements). Some of these may include AI-assisted components. While I aim to work with reputable sources, I don’t always verify the exact methods used in creating every element.
Built-in creative tools: Like many modern writing and design programs, the tools I use may include AI-powered features such as spelling, grammar, or editing assistance.
Where I Don’t Use AI
My books: Every word of my stories is written by me. Always.
Book cover art: My covers are created by human artists, not generated by AI.
Interior illustrations: The illustrations in my books are not AI-generated, though they may include third-party elements as described above.
At the end of the day, storytelling is a deeply human craft. The heart, voice, and meaning behind my work come from me—AI simply helps with some of the supporting details along the way.
If you’re ever curious about my process, I’m always happy to talk about it.
