Latest From the Blog:
apparently I’m not the only one whose story inspirations sometimes unexpectedly involve superheroes. Today, author Holli Anderson is dropping by the blog to talk about where she got one of the ideas for her new book.
One of the best things about journeying ever deeper into the world of writing and publishing is getting to meet and learn from other authors. Today, I’m excited to have a guest post for you, written by a new friend of mine, a fellow author with Immortal Works, as well as fellow dragon lover, Jodi L. Milner.
I’m beyond thrilled to announce that Dragon Ascending has been nominated for the 2018 Whitney Awards!

And a big THANK YOU to those of you readers who nominated Dragon Ascending. Your support means everything to me.
What a ride it’s been since my last update! I fully intended to post in December, but too much urgent stuff piled up and posting took a slide down the priority pile. I’m here now, though!
I thought I’d start with a quick summary of the past quarter so you can see what I’ve been up to:
Icelanders have a Christmas tradition I absolutely adore. Each Christmas Eve, they exchange books and then spend the evening reading. It's called the Jolabokaflod, the "Yule book flood."
This year, I've decided to join in the fun. Starting on December 24 at 12:00am PST, the Kindle edition of Dancing with the Viper will be FREE on Amazon as my gift to you--and as your gift to all your friends. Free books make great last-minute holiday gifts for family members, friends, teachers, clients, and book clubs.
I hope you'll get in the Jolabokaflod spirit too and help me flood the world with books.
Several people have seen my excitement about this go by on Facebook over the weekend and asked how it all went down. So here’s the scoop:
Yesterday I had a fun conversation about Dragon Ascending with Daniel Swenson of the Dungeon Crawlers Radio podcast. And since Daniel is an editing ninja, it’s already live on the internets for your listening pleasure. And just in time for Halloween, too!
Happy Halloween, dear friends.
And happy listening.
I was so pleased with how it all went! We had a standing room only crowd (which I so totally did not expect—I love you guys). And The King’s English sold all but six of the copies of the book they brought (which I have signed, so if you hurry you might still be able to get a signed copy through them).
September is upon us, and it’s time for another update.
