Rest in Peace, Dave Wolverton

Dave Wolverton (aka David Farland) was a pillar of the sci-fi and fantasy writing community in Utah and beyond. He was a mentor to Brandon Sanderson, Stephanie Meyers, Brandon Mull, and many, many other writers.

I’ve met Dave a few times, seen him on panels at conferences, and sat in on one of his master classes as a conference volunteer. I’ve also read a couple of his books and have been subscribed to his writing tips email list for years. I’ve learned a lot from Dave, even though I only knew him from a distance.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of his recent unexpected death, and my heart goes out to his family and friends and to all those who knew him.

You will be missed by many, Dave. May new adventures await you on the other side.
